Horizon Alumna Graduates Penn as Valedictorian

Penn High School was proud to have 17 students earn valedictorian honors and two students earn salutatorian honors for the Class of 2018 during Commencement held on Friday, May 25, 2018.

One of those 17 Valedictorians, Mackenzie Wood, attended Horizon Elementary School. Mackenzie also attended Northpoint Elementary and Discovery Middle School.

Mackenzie’s college plans are to attend Northwestern University and study Computer Engineering. Her career plan is to play professional soccer and represent our country on the U.S. National Team.

While attending Penn, Mackenzie’s activities, honors and team memberships included attending the U.S. Women’s National Training Camp in 2016 and 2018, attended U.S. Soccer id2 Camp in 2016, Team Captain for Penn Girls Soccer, attended All-American game in 2017, Indiana Career Goalkeeper Shutout Record for IHSAA, National Honor Society and Soccer & Hospital Volunteer.
