2nd Graders make Quilt Honoring Black History Month

There is a theory that quilts were utilized as signs and secret code as part of the Underground Railroad helping to guide runaway slaves to freedom. As part of her history lessons, Horizon 2nd grade teacher Mrs. Mary Dansky had students study historical African Americans and then make individual “quilt patches” with facts about their person.
