
Horizon’s New Principal Named
Posted on June 23, 2026At the Penn-Harris-Madison Board of School Trustees meeting held Monday, June 22, 2026, Courtney Koszyk was approved as the new principal of Horizon Elementary School.
With Amy Fadorsen’s retirement at the end of the 2025-2026 school year, P-H-M Administration were in search of a principal who would uphold and expand Horizon’s commitment to academic excellence.
Principal Koszyk joins P-H-M from Beiger Elementary School, where she has served as principal for the past eight years. Throughout her career, she has been committed to creating a positive school culture, supporting staff growth, and helping students thrive. She will continue Horizon’s tradition of providing a welcoming, supportive environment while maintaining the high academic expectations that Horizon is known for.
Mrs. Koszyk holds a Master’s degree in Educational Administration and Supervision from Ball State University and a Bachelor’s degree from Indiana University. Principal Koszyk’s experience includes teaching multiple elementary grade levels, serving as an assistant principal at John Young Middle School, and leading Beiger Elementary to numerous successes. In 2021, she was recognized by the Indiana Association of School Principals as District II Principal of the Year.
