Horizon Elementary’s Drama Club Auditions are Coming!

It’s time to kick off Horizon’s Drama Club this year! Auditions for Drama Club are open to students in grades 1-5.

 

The annual all-school musical this year, presented by Horizon’s Drama Club, will be “James and The Giant Peach”. Performances are scheduled for Thursday, February 23th and Friday, February 24th.

 

Rehearsals will be after school from 2:30 – 3:45 on Monday –Thursday starting in January after auditions are complete and the cast is announced. Not every student will rehearse each day. Specific schedules will be emailed to parents/guardians once the show has been cast.

 

Because drama is not part of the regular school curriculum, Horizon’s Drama Club is considered an “extracurricular activity.” A participation fee of $25 will be charged to each cast member (please wait until cast list is announced before sending money). This helps to cover the numerous expenses associated with creating a show of this size.

 

Please remember that not all students who audition can be included in the show due to the large number of students who try out every year. Auditions are scored using a rubric and the judges include Horizon staff members and theater professionals from our community.

Audition Information:  

When: Tuesday, January 10th (2:30pm) for 1st, 2nd and 3rd graders only

       Wednesday, January 11th (2:30pm) for 4th and 5th graders only

Where: Horizon Music Room

Pick up: Students will call home or return to Kid's Club once their audition is finished.  Parents will pick up children at Door B.

*Each student who wants to stay after school and audition must have the permission slip signed by a parent/guardian.

 

These MUST be turned into Mr. West no later than Monday, January 9th.   That is the day we return from Winter Break. 

No late permission slips will be accepted.
