Horizon School follows a traditional schedule, which provides each student with weekly experiences in music and physical education, along with visits to the computer lab and Instructional Media Center. Art Smart, Hands-on Science and many other enrichment opportunities enhance the curriculum for all students. Fine arts are a cornerstone at Horizon, where we feature multiple musical performances each year as well our 4th & 5th grade Show Choir, which performs throughout the community each year. Technology makes it possible for students to do live video news broadcasts each morning, and classrooms have access to interactive software and online programming covering a wide range of curricular topics. Currently, Horizon boasts over 600 computers/laptops in the building, including a classroom set of iPad minis for our Kindergarten students. Horizon provides an inclusive environment where students with special needs are placed in the regular classroom.

Honors and Achievements
Over the years, Horizon has consistently been recognized as an Indiana Four Star School. To be a Four Star School in Indiana, schools must be accredited by the state and ranked in the top 25 percent of all Indiana schools in four areas: total performance on Indiana Statewide Testing for Educational Progress; language scores on ISTEP+; math scores on ISTEP+; and attendance rates. Financial rewards have been received for improvements in these areas. Horizon received a letter grade "A" from the state of Indiana for academic excellence and growth.
